Cold forgingFully automatic multi-stage forging is performed with FORGE for the simulation of this valve housing. The following image shows the forging sequence on the Coldmatic AKP 4-5 HATEBUR press. FORGE has been used to improve die life of the third stage of this forging sequence. The figure shows a concentration (in red) of the radial stress on the die. With a modification of the die shape, the radial stress on the die is less important as shown on the following figure.
