Simply generate an initial microstructure

DIGIMU® integrates a tool dedicated to generate realistic polycrystal from statistical data: it is possible to import grain size distribution histograms, but also normal or lognormal distribution laws.

These data can be used to generate various phenomena like equiaxed microstructures, a population of precipitates or oxydes and then simulate the Smith-Zener Pinning effect on grain boundaries.

In case of very specific microstructures, it is possible to import microstructures directly in the software from EBSD images, draw them by hand or with some scripts.

 

Simulate grain size evolutions in 3d and 2D

DIGIMU® now allows to analyze grain size evolutions in a 2D and 3D polycrystal. New analysis tools are available to study the obtained results, either directly in 3D or in 2D cutting planes.

Use its own microstructural models

The new DIGIMU® version is significantly more flexible thanks to its module dedicated to user routines. It makes it possible to import its own laws and microstructural models to carry out simulations adapted to its activity and materials: hardening laws, recovery laws, nucleation criterions, material files, additional input and output, etc.
