FORGE® SIMULATION software as a tool to tackle the automotive industry challenges
Yvan Chastel, Expert Leader at Renault Group explains in this short interview how experts use simulation software as a key tool in their mission of material selections, testing and characterization.
In this interview Yvan Chastel explains that numerical simulation helps address current challenges in the automotive industry such as the new powertains, new vehicles and architectures, and, more specifically, time-to-market. The Renault Group has been using FORGE® for many years to support highly specialized manufacturing processes, relying on its accuracy and robustness for metal forming and other complex operations. Today, the company is looking beyond isolated process simulations and exploring a broader, integrated approach in which digital simulation forms a continuous chain, from the manufacturing process to assembly, and ultimately to structural analyses such as static fatigue or crash performance. The big push is now toward building this full chain of operations in simulation, enabling more holistic, predictive, and efficient engineering workflows.
